Find Reliably Cool Threads For Those Fluctuating Temps At Steven Alan

Ah, late October: A time of year marked by fall foliage, freezing mornings and toasty afternoons. We recently popped into the Downtown Brooklyn outpost of Steven Alan, a shop known for elevated basics with pops of personality, to figure out how to dress for twenty-degree temperature fluctuations. Here’s what the (very well-dressed) shop keep told us:

For women, it’s all about high-waisted, wide-leg pants, like the Steven Alan Monroe — a style that is pulled together and structured (read: fall), yet breathable. A t-shirt and a light sweater from DEMYLEE (for the mornings and evenings) will round out the look.

For the guys, try the Steven Alan reverse seam shirt, which originally debuted in 1999. It’s one hundred percent cotton (read: breathable), and works well with a good pair of jeans and the Steven Alan Ripstop zip-up shirt jacket.

Stay warm (and cool), folks!
