Head To Elsa After Work For An Instagram-Worthy Cocktail (Or Two)

From the neon pink sign bearing the name outside the bar to the marble detail and low lighting inside the bar, Elsa has just a wee bit more ambiance than your average cocktail spot. Fans of the original East Village location were thus understandably delighted to find the once-shuttered locale had reopened in Downtown Brooklyn. And so are we! As Natalka Burian, owner of the Atlantic Avenue bar with husband Jay Schneider and brother-in-law Scott Schneider, told The New York Times: “So many of our new regulars are old regulars who moved out here. We moved the bar with our customers.”

And about those cocktails: The seasonal drinks menu mixes old and new, and there are pretty good drink specials from 5-7. The Hemp Ascot, Self Portrait, and Upstate-Downstate Beast are all delightfully mixed (and named). If you are looking for a small bite or two to temper those cocktails, try the olives or a cheese plate: Both (along with the other “snacks” on offer) are brought in from Stinky Bklyn, a beloved cheese shop located just around the corner.

Look for us out on the back patio now through Labor Day, perched at one of the bistro tables and sipping one of those aforementioned beverages under rows of string lights.
