Skip The Traffic And Go To Pilot Brooklyn For A Taste Of Summer By The Sea

It is a genius idea, really: Opening an oyster bar on a boat. Such was the thinking behind Pilot Brooklyn, a seasonal spot chucking oysters and mixing cocktails from the deck of a 100-year-old wooden schooner off of Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. This is the second such schooner in NYC, too; the team behind Pilot is also making good use of the Hudson with the schooner Grand Banks docked at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. The only catch (pun very much intended)? Everyone else loves these bars-on-a-boat as much as we do, so to avoid a wait, go early or make dinner reservations in advance. Or take advantage of the holiday exodus and go right now.
