The Atlantic Avenue shop stocks indie, local and cult-favorite perfumes and skincare, and generally offers up an experience unlike anything you’d get at, say, a standard department store. (Read: No perfume sample pushers.) Instead, you are welcomed by an expert staff who are as friendly as they are knowledgable — and an impressively extensive array of offerings. (During our visit, a gentleman popped over on his motorcycle to replenish his wife’s favorite, hard-to-find-otherwise scent.)

Unsure where to start? Try a “scent line-up,” during which you are encouraged to shout out any obscure scent memory you might have: “The Pacific Northwest!” “A beach in 1964!” From there, the team will pull out ten or so bottles for you to consider, and give you samples of your top three favorites to test drive at home.
